I have a Silky/Yorkie. I'm trying to figure out what he is, one vet called him a Silky, another called him a Yorkie. I looked online and I'm still confused …
he has a blonde head, grey body, blonde legs and a stubby little tail (that I know of, his tail hasn't been cut)

I think that the Silkies are a bit larger than the Yorkie. Their coats are different, head shape is different. These sites should be able to point out the specific differences.

it is hard to tell when they are puppies because they do have simliar colors of the black and tan
however as they grow older the silky terrier's hair color will become silver, the snout will be longer, and a silky is taller and some what bigger than a yorkie. Silkies will have longer hair
A yorkie's hair color will be silver and tan, the snout will be closer to the face, and they will be small. Some yorkies will be blonde or a dark brown. a yorkie tail is usually short and curved.
both dogs are really similar. the easiest way to tell them apart is by their snout.
