How Can I Get My Yorkie Pomenian to Start Eating Her Food More?

We currently feed her Royal Canine that we buy from our vet for $75 per new bag. My 3 legged poodle has just been eating away! Lacey my Yorkie Pom loves her treats but for some reason she seems to have lost her apetite. I've even tried hand feeding her but that doesn't work either. Any suggestions?

This is what I used to do.
Get a can of good quality food, put a couple of teaspoons and mix it w/ the dry, then put a little warm water in it and mix. I bet she'll be all over it.

    don't coddle to her.
put the food down. if she doesn't eat it, she gets nothing till next meal.
no cookies, no treats, no nothin.
feed same food next meal. repeat without treats until she eats.

dogs will not starve themselves. they will eat when they are hungry.

Feed her something else. Royal Canin is not a very high quality food but is very high priced at the vet's. I feed Merrick, its about $45 for a 30lb bag and my picky dog loves it. Its also in small pieces so even little dogs can eat it easily. Merrick is much better quality than Royal Canin. If there's no store in your area that sells it you can order it online like I do from petfooddirect.com

there are a few things that could be going on here…first, she may not be eating because she really doesn't like the food. Second, she may be "holding out" to get treats because she likes them better than the food, Third she may have some type of digestive upset and dogs will usually fast themselves until they are feeling better. Make sure they have plenty of water and keep an eye on her for any other signs or symptoms just in case it's medical issue. I have an American Bulldog that was very lethargic, wouldn't hardly eat his food and just "wasn't himself" I chose to feed him a raw diet after trying several different high end kibbles with no improvement and raw feeding has made all the difference! He is now a happy, healthy, shiny 75 pound 7 mo old! Now there are people that will tell you how to add things to your dogs food to make it more appealing to them such as adding gravy, mixing in canned food, putting "people food" in it but I have always really listened to what my dogs behavior has been and it has worked out well for me. I wish you the best of luck! If you are interested in a raw diet the website I have listed will give you so much information you won't know what to do with it all!
