Well first off, you cant ask if there are any adoptable yorkies then ask if they are for sale. Adoption is something that happens from a shelter. I would check out local shetlers and also http://www.petfinder.com is a great site.

Yorkie's and other small, long haired dogs aren't the best pet for a household with a small child. Most little dogs become frightened of kids easily and may snap at the two year old. Rough play or a tumble can injure the dog pretty badly.

Your best bet is to go to a shelter, ask the workers for a medium sized dog that has tested good with children. A medium sized dog (15 lbs or more) with short fur would do best - they can handle children a lot better than a Yorkie.

Price for adoption will be anywhere from $50 up to $200. Price for BUYING a puppy will be in the $400 or more range.

Yorkie's are all generally the same size and color - dark brown/black on lighter brown. Here:

You're better off with an adult dog as well. A puppy will be a LOT of work - house training, teaching it to play nice with the kids, obedience training, etc. An older dog from a shelter may come already housebroken, you can ask for a behavior assessment (or make sure the dog passed one) and that will show you if the dog is mouthy or not (or good with kids), and you won't have to go through the teething phase.
