how much is $ …?

a teacup yorkie and where can I find a place in los angeles california that sales teacup yorkies

thanks

Usually people who call their dogs "teacup" charge whatever they can possibly get out of you.

I hear that in Los Angeles vets and other people charge a whole lot more than elsewhere, so you're likely looking at a hefty sum. Maybe a couple thousand.

Of course, you could go to the trouble of finding a well-bred Yorkshire Terrier from a responsible breeder who is a member of the national breed club.

A responsible breeder works hard to breed healthy and temperamentally sound dogs. They want dogs that are very small but not so small that they suffer from health problems.

If you get a dog from an irresponsible breeder (a sure sign is that they call their dogs "teacup", a marketing ploy), you might not only pay more for the dog, but you'll also likely pay more throughout the dog's life for medical bills and health problems.

Good luck!

If you want to save a LOT of money, not only in the purchase price of the dog, but in medical bills, etc….don't buy from anyone who advertises an undersized Yorkie as a "teacup".

There's an epidemic of idiot breeders who are breeding an undersized version of Yorkies, Chihuahas and other toy breeds, and selling them for exorbitant amounts of money, due to the misguided idea that tiny= money.

When in fact, tiny often equals health problems that cost YOU money….bulging eye problems, missing or deformed teeth, weak or inadequate organs, hypoglycemia, weak bones, and shorter life spans. People who breed "teacup" dogs aren't paying attention to anything but size…they are not taking into consideration the health or temperament of their breeding stock. Therefore, the dogs produced by a 'teacup' breeder are often unhealthy.

Check out the website for the Yorkshire Terrier Club of America: http://www.ytca.org/

There is a link to contact breeders. The Yorkie Club has a code of ethics which its member breeders must adhere to. You are quite likely to find a quality Yorkie through one of their breeders. Good breeders *do* occasionally end up with an undersized dog in their litters. These dogs are usually sold at a reduced cost, as pets, because they do not meet the breed standard and are not good for showing or breeding.

So if you do your research, you CAN find a smaller-than-usual Yorkie without all the associated health issues that come with buying from some "Teacup" ripoff artist.
