Go to the pound or shelter. Most dogs that have been through ordeals are better dogs afterwards, probably because they are afraid it will happen to them again. The dog itself is free, and it is only about $100-150 to get him/her neutered/spayed and for papers and any other vet check-ups they do, and it'll also make you feel good for keeping a dog from being killed, because after a certain amount of time, if a dog isn't adopted, they will put him or her to sleep.

Good luck finding your dog!

Go to your local animal shelter. You'll be able to find a great dog there that's already got its shots, spayed or neutered if old enough, temperament tested & many even microchip the dogs before you take the dog home. Wouldn't you prefer to save one rather than spend so much on buying one when you don't care whether it's purebred? Many mixed breeds are healthier too. Go check it out.

from a good quality breeder yorkie and yorkie mixes are expensive and if they are cheap it generally means poor quality
since you wouldnt mind a mix of a yorkie go to petfinder.com or 1800saveapet.com
or try a yorkie rescue or a rescue designated towards small breeds
I just went to petfinder.com and typed in your location and yorkies and there are many yorkies in your area to adopt here is the direct link to yorkies in your area:http://search.petfinder.com/search/search.cgi?pet.Animal=Dog&pet.Breed=YORKIE&pet.Age=&pet.Size=&pet.Sex=&location=los+angeles%2CCA

I would recomend the site: http://www.petfinder.com, but if you choose a classifieds site please read below for info on yorkie scammers… Read all of it! Yorkie Puppy Adoption Scam!!!!!!

——————————————————————————–

Do not reply to an e-mail from Susan Berkly, susana007@skim.com. She posts ads claiming to have moved to Cameroon due to her husband being transfered with an airline company. She fears for her yorkies health and wants to get the puppy out of Cameroon as quickly as possible. She will tell you that all you have to pay is the customs fee $100. You will send the money to a person claiming to be the manager of Camairpets Pet Heealth Care and Custom Department, Achiri Ngu (camairpets@yahoo.com). They will give you the info to send Moneygram or Western union. Once you have sent the money, they will tell you that you puppy will be going out on some imaginary flight, and then, they will tell you the puppy has a lay over in Charles De Gaulle International Airport, Paris, France. Once there, they will notify you and tell you that Air France will be taking over from this point on. Someone from Air France Paris will contact you, air_francepetspassport@yahoo.com, and tell you that you need to pay a $300 refundable insurance fee. They will want you to send the cash up front by Western Union or Money Gram once again. DO NOT DO IT!!!!!!!!! No company should ever ask you for cash up front on something like that. Every airline carries its own insurance policy. You do not have to pay for it, and if you do, it will not cost that much and it will be optional. The two different companies had the same style e-mail also. Just the logos were different. Air France will try to convince you they are legit and get offended when you deny their validity. The lady, Susan Berkly, will try to make you feel guilty by telling you that she would never do such a scam, that they are "God-fearing" people, that she trusted you to take good care of the puppy, and so on. Eventually, the e-mails will stop. I did not think anything of this scam until they asked for a refundable insurance fee in cash upfront. I had my other puppy shipped, and know that is not how it works. I hope this e-mail helps someone and prevents any further scamming by these people. Remember, if this sounds like your scenario, but not the same names, it probably is still a scam!!!! (((Also lots of scammers say they are in africa doing missionary work and the weather is bad, and they fear for their "baby's" life, so they say you will have to pay a small fee to the western union for shipping expenes… Look for e-mails listing keywords: babies nigeria (top scamming groups), I HOPE YOU FIND A GOOD BABY YORKIE AND DONT GET SCAMMED! REMEMBER IF IT SOUNDS TO GOOD TO BE TRUE IT PROBABLY IS!

Craigslist.com
pick state
then city
and wait a while-log one everyday at night for like a week adn sumthing sould turn up, that how I found a cockapoo :)

if no luck then search newspapers and go to pet shops at the end of the month-that is when they are desperate to sell their dogs.

I don't really like pet shops- i believe in adopting a pooch instead but understand that when you want a certain breed-especially if it is a breed such as this- you have to move on to breeders, and even pet shops. :/

ps, when you go to the salon or to a social place that you visit at least once a month, tell everyone or almost everyone that works there that you are looking for a pup- they have pretty good connections and know tons of people (especially hairdressers) and might be able to get the word out.
GOOD LUCK!!
