How Do You Prevent Hawks From Flying Away With Your Small Dogs Like Yorkies?

I have had 3 Yorkies taken away by hawks. is there a special sweater I can put on them to scare away the birds?

I have to assume you are a troll, as no one would actually be this stupid.

Obviously you would prevent this by never letting them outside unsupervised, and not letting them stray too far from you when they are outside. I am surprised this did not occur to you after the first incident.

No, there is no special sweater. There is responsibility and caution, but that will actually take effort on your part. You may want to just forget the idea of owning dogs altogether.

tie miniature bombs to your dogs that go off when they are in the hawks mouth. granted, your dog will be dead. but so will the hawk. you gotta give a little to win sometimes.

I have thought of this before. My daughter has minpins and we live deep in the country where we do have several birds of prey. When she comes to visit we always go out with them just for that reason. But our pitts usually go out with them and that kind of wards off any attacks. I didn’t want to get abusive.

where are you when this happens? I wouldn’t let a small dog out for a min unattended. 3 is too many. you are doing something horribly wrong and I really hope that you don’t get any more yorkies. You should be with the dog outside at all times right by it’s side.

I think i’m going to have my wife knit a special sweater with a panic button so that my yorkie can press and she can slip out and be safe if she does get taken away by a hawk or anything alikeā€¦ LOL
