What will Yorkies do if you leave them at home by themself?
I heard Yorkies can't be left at home alot… what happens if you havvvve to what will they do?
That's no more true for a yorkie than any other breed. But when I have to leave him home alone, he's either in his crate, or in his bedroom - a toally puppy proofed room with a bed and a window for him to look out of. I would NEVER let my dog run around all over the house alone. There is no telling what he would get into and hurt himself. But he's perfectly safe in his room.

Any dog should be crated when unsupervised inside the home if you cannot be 100% sure they will behave themselves and not chew things to pieces, get into the garbage etc.

They might get into your stuff, pee on the carpet and eat something they shouldn't. That is why you need a crate.

If you dont pick up your things, they will tear them up. Just pick up after yourself.

Well, nobody expects a dog to have someone home with it at all times. Of course they can be left alone, but like any animal, more than 8 hours is not recommended. To make it easier for the dogs, take them for a walk before you leave the house for any period of time. Even though they are small they still need daily walks. 30 minutes to one hour should be alright. That way they will be tired and will not be anxious or destructive.

i wouldn't worry about it too much. just make sure your home is puppy proof. as in baby proof. (no wires lying around and chemicals within reach) if not crated they'll only get into about as much trouble as any other breed.
they like interaction with their owner so leaving them for long periods of time wouldn't be healthy for them emotionally. working 9 to 5 is fine so long as they get lots of lovin when you're home.

Really, no dog likes to be left home alone. They are pack animals and we humans are part of their pack. I would never have just one dog at a time because my husband and I both work and then we have some social life away from work and a dog needs a friend 24/7. We have 4 Chihuahuas who keep themselves out of trouble for the most part, But if take off for a whole day, we expect to come home to find a little some thing unexpected left where it shouldn't be. Or there may be paper shredded, One day the got in my knitting bag and unraveled a big part of a scarf and strung the yarn around the den.

we have a yorkie that is 12 years old. she has had the run of the house her whole life. really you have to judge by your dogs temperament. if your dog is usually rowdy and into things when you are home, chances are they will be that way or worse when your gone. a certain breed is not more likely to destroy your house than another. if you are nervous about it, try leaving the dog alone for an hour in a room that she can't damage much in. i usually start with a bathroom with the cabinets locked.(use a child safety lock) put a favorite blanket and toy with the dog and see what happens. next time, if that goes well try a bed room. just make sure there isn't anything left out that would be dangerous. when it comes down to it the best judge of your dog is you. you have to decide what is best for you and your dogs lifestyle.
good luck!

I have a Yorkie and they can be left alone. All dogs are left alone at some point in time. As long as it's not for long periods of time (8hours) its perfectly fine. I know some people leave they're dogs out but I don't think that dogs should be able to run around the entire house all day unsupervised. I leave my yorkie in a room where she has water, a little bit of food in case she gets hungry, her bed, and all of her toys. Also, all dogs have accidents sometimes so this way if she does have an accident its in the room and where I can see it and clean it immediately
