Whats the Difference Between Yorkies and Silkies?

I know they look really similar. What is different?
My pup's mom was a purebred silky and her father was a purebred yorkie.

My dog looks more silky than yorkie.

honestly, i see alot of yorkies that look more like silkies
im a dog groomer and i i groom a few retired silky champions and yorkie champions
1. yorkies are smaller, and have much hair that is long enought o touch the ground at times, they have a shorter muzzle and larger eyes, more of a toy look then a terrier look
2. silkies are larger, with slightly corser hair, and a much shorter overall

most yorkies i groom though are larger with a aweful coat
so my real answer is
nothing

Yorkies descended form silkys. Silky terriers are pretty much the same thing, but with a slightly larger frame, and more drive (they have been less shrunken and selectively bred for looks.)

The difference between Yorkies and Silkies are that Silkies have longer hair and Yorkies have normal hair and their hair doesn't grow long and fast as Silkies. They may have the same bodies and ears but Silkies have more longer hair and Yorkies don't.

A Yorkie should be much smaller than a Silky. Been a groomer for 30 years. If you are thinking of buying one be careful, try and see the parents and study up on the standards. Yorkies can be silver also, but the size is the main thing. Yorkies should be really small and Silkies up to 15-17 lbs.
