I started researching about yorkies to show and breed.
I love dogs but i don't want to be a person who adds dogs into the shelters. I want to be a professional breeder.
Recently, I contacted a breeder who lives nearby for advises, but she told be she doesn't adopt her dogs for show quality. I think she's keeping all the puppies that are potential show dogs. Is there anyone who i can contact for show quality dogs? Money is not a issue, and I'm not looking for a dog right away. I want to learn more about showing and breeding before i get myself into it. Please help!
Talk to breeders at dog shows and breeders that show dogs. Don't buy a puppy that is labeled "show quality", especially if the breeder does not show themselves. Many breeders will keep puppies that look like they fit the standard and then decide whether or not to keep them for themselves or sell them. If you buy a puppy that is around 6 months old, it is already socialized, potty trained, and knows how to behave in the ring. Because you are a first timer, I would reccomend that you buy an older pup. Also, do a LOT of research on genetics before you even consider breeding and remember that puppies are a full time job. If you work for many hours a day, you will easily get overwhelmed. If you are a breeder, you will eventually add dogs to the shelter.

Your best bet is to visit http://www.ytca.org and begin looking there. Be sure to understand what a good breeder is so that you don't get taken by one pretending they know the breed standard and overcharging you for a "show quality" dog.
Good luck to you.

You can go to http://www.akc.com and locate a breeder in your area. A lot of breeders will only sell puppies for pet quality unless otherwise noted. If you are looking for a Yorkie to breed, you will have to find a breeder that will do a full registration or else you will not be able to register the offspring of the dam. If you do find a breeder that will do a full registration, make sure you have champion bloodlines in the family (if you are planning to show). Also, breeders that will sell a show quality puppy usually require more money than a regular limited registration puppy.
