Where Is a Good Reliable Place to Buy Yorkies in MA?

I am looking into buying a yorkie, but by searching the web, I am not sure which are reliable. Please Help!

Kudos to you for trying to find a good, reliable breeder! If you would like to find a dog from a breeder, go to http://akc.org . This is the website of the American Kennel Club, and all of it’s registered breeders are responsible, reputable breeders. Here are instructions for getting to a breeder referral page-

1) Type in http:// akc.org into your web browser at the top of your screen
2) Click on ‘Future Dog Owners’ in the little grey barn on the top of the site’s page. It should be the fifth one over from the left.
3) Click on ‘Breeder Referral’ under ‘Contacts’ next to the little blue phone icon.
4) Scroll down to Yorkshire Terrier, and click on “Breeder Directory: website”
5) Read the agreement, and click on “I agree”
6) Read the page and click on “Click here for a list of breeders” at the bottom of the page
7) Find your state

All of these breeders are fine. If you would like to find a Yorkie from a rescue, go to http://petfinder.com or go to Google.com and type in “Yorkie Rescues in (your state)”.

Good luck!

PS- On step 4, you could also read the information about getting a new puppy and such. It is great information!

Good, stay away from the internet sites that promise the world before you hand over your $$$.
Try researching at wwwakc.org for the Yorkshire Terrier Club of America. Read the standard for the breed.
Then look (same site) for a Yorkshire Terrier breeder that successfully shows this breed and call them and ask questions. Call 10 breeders from that site… It doesn’t cost to inquire about sound puppies.
You have to do your homework or some BYB thieving idiot will take you for all they can and you will be holding a poor quality pup with no one to blame but yourself. Be smart, good luck.

    Try http://www.petfinder.com

    Good Luck!

(expect to pay at least $1,000 for a yorkie from a reputable breeder. Any less, the puppy will come from a Back Yard Breeder)

    Good Luck!
