   There are several scams online including dogs/puppies. Try to find a breeder within driving distance , so you can actually meet the breeder & their dogs. Try akc.org breeder referral. Another option try petfinder.com or google Yorkie rescue.

   why dont you go to the shelter then. some breeders have websites, but i wouldnt trust one that would sell a dog through the internet. reputable breeders usually interview the potential owners, see their house, meet the family, and have numerous contracts signed. my boss is a very reputable poodle breeder and while she has a website showing past litters and updates, she does not sell through the internet (trust me she gets hundreds of emails). i know some people who have been able to fly and get a dog, but they had to fly out and meet the breeder first. and again i just wouldnt buy a dog from someone who would just give him to me without knowing me

   Any decent breeder knows there are plenty of homeless ones that need to be taken care of first.

   Please consider adopting a Yorkie instead of going to a breeder. Purchasing a dog from a breeder only adds to the problem we have with unwanted dogs. Even purebreds.

   Right now there are 616 Yorkies listed on petfinder.com. You could give one of these 600 dogs a great home. Use their search feature to narrow by breed and location (using your zip code) and it will show you the dogs in your area.

   Please think about it.

   I found one, and would you consider another small breed like a Chihuahua instead???
   There are some nice little dogs in your area that need good homes. You'll save a dog's life and money at the same time.
