How do I find a reputable Yorkshire Terrier Breeder in MN?
I'm interested in getting a Yorkshire Terrier. I want a pure breed. I'm not opposed to adopting one, but usually there isn't any or much information about the dog available. I will be looking at the shelters in my area too, but I would like to also look into breeders. I just don't know how to find a reputable one here in MN in the Twin Cities area. I've tried searching online but there's so many that I can't tell the differance between them.
I was also wondering if anyone knew how much a Yorkie would cost through a breeder or through adoption. I've seen pricing online ranging from $150 to $2500 for both adoption and purchasing.
Thanks for any help!
Jamie
have you checked the breed club website for a list of reputable breeders?
likely a pup from a reputable breeder will be around 1,000. Ad from health tested, proven parents, and lifetime support from a caring breeder, it will be well worth it!
Or you could check for a yorkie rescue in your area.

There is also a site called "petfinder" or something like that, I dont know the URL for it, but I'm sure someone else will
ADD: Heres the direct link to the yorkie page, if you scroll down, there is a heading on the left hand side that says breed contacts, thats what you need

Jamie, please click on this: http://www.akc.org and you will find a nationwide list of reputable, responsible breeders. Look in the Toy Breeds section. You can email them about prices. Sometimes breeders have older puppies, up to a year old, or young adults for sale at lower prices than the 8 weeks old pups. If you'd be interested in an older pup or young adult (1 to 2 years?), please be sure to mention that.
