Ageing Yorkshire/Silky Terrier~ Has Panic Attacks, and Terrible Knee Pain! She Is 14, Blind and Sweet!?

Isabel is a rescue dog from New York City! We lived on Long Island Sound for 9 long years

Now I think she is senile! She wanders constantly! Anyone have any suggestions! I am at my wits end!

I have a 151/2 yr. old shelti that is deaf & has bad cataracts in both eyes. She wanders around alot too. I put up a baby gate to keep her in the area of the house that I'm in. The vet said she should be alright as long as we don't move the furniture. She may be a little senile, but it's not her fault as long as she's happy & has a good quality of life, do your best to be patience, she is just old & aging.

Poor dog, I had a dog who lived until she was 18.1/2 yrs. old, blind, deaf, incontinent, slept most of the day. If your dog has knee pain (joint) put her on glucosamine, either human grade or one for dogs. it'll help if she has arthritis. I kept my dog confined to one room to avoid peeing accidents or wandering into large objects, she was perfectly content to sleep by the gas stove in her bed. If they're been great dogs, I always want to take care of them when they're seniors. Good luck.
