with cancer of the mamory glands and lymphoma,I don 't really know how you spell it , or care ,to be honest.
All I know is I love her so much I would do anything to save her,but have been told there is nothing that can be done. Why is it that people like me,who truly love their animals and do everything to make their little lives happy one's, loose them and people who are cruel and have no real feeling for them ,have them for years?
All my dogs are rescue,I have only had these two little sweethearts since July 2006 and now I'm going to loose one of them.
The same thing happened with two I took on the year before,I lost both within three weeks of one another.
She is now on quarterzone and antibiotics, who out there knows of anything that might give her more time.I can give her tablets and love and I know it's very important, but if you know of anything that has worked for your animal please tell me,I'm heartbroken and desperate.
She is not in any pain at the moment, although the tumours are quite large, she seems to be able to make herself comfortable in different ways, she's eating and although not going as far, still loves to go for a walk each day.As the vet says, she doesn't realise she is ill,and believe you me ,both my husband and I adore both of them .They have the best of everything, better food than us on occasion.I have had to have animals put to sleep a few times in my life,at 6O you can imagine as an animal lover I've had many of all types. I just hoped someone, might have tried something different to that prescribed for this particular thing and it worked.I also worry about my other little one. She is very dependent emotionally on the other, as they are sisters and have always been together.I'm scared that I will loose her too,as I did with my boys last year.I used to believe in god,but the ? that he's dished out to me is for more people than one person can endure, god only knows what I did before now.
One of my Yorkies had and still has tumors in her mamories. First, they did a lumpectomy on her to remove some of the tumors. They turned out to be benign (Non-cancerous). Then she had more tumors develop. So next, they did a simple masectomy where they removed the 4th and 5th mamory on one side. Those tumors turned out to be benign too (thank God). She still has tumors in some of her other mamories, but I can no longer afford to put my baby through these surgeries (they are really expensive). Not only that but I hate putting her through the surgery. They are very painful. I am more worried about losing her under the knife next time. Just give her the meds and make her as comfortable as you can. If she looks like she's in too much pain, then you should have her put down. It's the most humane thing to do.
I can't tell you why this is happening to you. I believe that God only gives us what we can handle. You seem to be a wonderful person who cares very much about your dogs. I'm sorry that you have to go through this. It is very painful and yes, unfair. Try to spend as much time with her as you can. She will know how much you love her. It will make her happy despite the pain.

perhaps they come to you for their final days because they sense you will give them the best you can.. i know it is sad. but sometimes they have a sixth sense.. and maybe so do you…
so just give the meds, and hope, and give lots of love..

I'm so sorry about whats happening to your yorkie , I understand your suffering, I'm a lot older than you and I"m sure of that. You only pass this life once do whatever you have to do for all animal and people, trust me this is the only thing you can do , I's very rewarding to give love ,you will understand why later in life. If you have to put her down because she is suffering to much do it, never regret that and also get a 2nd opinion just in case. I wish lots of luck in what your doing and keep rescuing animals.

I have 4 yorkies- last week the 3yr old was operated on to remove a Mast Tumor. It was cancerous so I really know how you feel. Luckily I found the tumor within weeks, we are doing an ultrasound on her spleen (which is where these spread to) and being diligent on checking her for more tumors. The only treatment I'm told, is to remove the tumors as they appear. I feel helpless, but am determined to love her and spoil her even more then I already do. All ours are like our kids and I can't imagine not having her around. My job, responsibility is to take care of her, but if it gets to the point where she is in constant pain, I won't subject her to that. I love her and she deserves the best QUALITY of live, not necessarily quantity.
Good Luck with your little one.
