Other dogs peeing on mine?
Every time I take my yorkshire terrier to meet other dogs, they pee on her. I have no clue why this is happening. I have been trying to find another dog and every time I introduce another dog to her, the other dog pees almost instantly on my dog. I have introduced 2 males and 1 female, and even the female peed on her. I rescued my yorkie from a puppymill so she is very submissive and gets frightened very easily. Is it because she is so submissive? The other day I just set her down on the ground, and the other dog just walked straight up and peed right on her face! Please, somebody help my poor Lily.
I bathe my dog extremely well. (I work at a kennel and have friend's that are groomers.) The peeing occurances have happened far apart from each other. So, I don't think they are fighting over her… Maybe she's just hott stuff and everybody wants to claim her for themselves?
Another thing, when I rescued her from the puppymill she had a litter of puppies. Even her own puppies picked on her and she tried to get away from them. She isn't very social either. I've been trying to socialize her at my work with fellow little dogs that I know since I work with them. She wants nothing to do with other dogs and just scurries away or just freezes up. She is only 5 lbs so it is hard to find dogs smaller than her.
yes it is a submissive behavior. awe i feel soo bad. thats horrible :[
maybe you could get a yorkshire puppy and make sure that it is still smaller than Lilly. maybe she'll learn how to be submissive. hope this helps :]

That is incredibly sad. Don't let them pee on her!!!
Have you bathed her really well? Dogs pee on things to mark them as "their territory", so if the other dogs recognize another dog's scent on her, they'll try to cover it up with their own so they have the "ownership" instead. Give her a really good bath and don't let other dogs close enough to pee on her. That's just mean.

Make sure if your dog gets peed on, that you really get the smell out. You can even use a 1 part bleach to 2 parts water, and spray it on her coat. This will make sure other dogs don't smell that she's been peed on before. Yes, her submissive nature could be a factor in this, and also the fact that she's small. You should work on building her confidence, playing with her, maybe introducing her to other little dogs. Little being the key.

The first dog did it to mark their territory. It's weird I know, but that's what they're doing. Things like this come up sometimes with excessively submissive dogs.
After that, it's no different than a tree. Another dog comes along and smells the urine and feels compelled to mark as well. Eventually, it just becomes habit. The dogs have just added her to their list of things that simply must be peed on each day.
So clearly, you're hanging out with other dogs that aren't on a leash. Their owners should be the ones to break this habit, not you. However, you can't control other people and their dogs. You can only control yourself and your dog. That means staying away from dog parks for the time being.
Take her to the groomer, give her a good scrub and then just start walking her as per normal. Don't take her to the park for .. I'd say a month. Any remaining smell will be long gone and the other dogs will have removed her from their list of things to mark.
Socialize her slowly with other dogs that are on leashes. Eventually, you should be able to go to the park and not have her peed on. If the behavior persists though, you may just have to have the type of relationship with your dog where you don't get to go to the park. There's nothing wrong with that either. A dog can still lead a fulfilling and healthy life without going to the park. Plenty of other things to do together.

My year old puppy used to pee on slow old furry dogs. I think it was a dominance thing since the poor old furry dog wasn't responding or moving very fast. I stopped taking him to dog parks where he would do this mainly because of the diseases dogs can get from them. Also he was attacked by a large dog and had to go to the vet. I've never understood when my puppy would pee on another dog though. Maybe someone here has an answer. I was going to bring a can with pebbles to shake when he was going to pee on something he shouldn't but it stopped. You may be right about your dog being submissive and getting attacked by the peeing. Bring a can with you as soon as you see a dog coming up and lifting his leg.
