I have a Yorkshire Terrier, and I'm not sure if I can give food that has garlic in it. Someone please help?
I know commercial dog food has garlic powder in it, but it is very minimal and not enough to cause a problem. If you are feeding her people food, I really would stay away from garlic as it is toxic.

I wouldn't suggest it.
Bits of garlic are actually very healthy for your dog, but in larger amounts, it can be deadly. So, I wouldn't risk it because you don't know how much is in there.
ADDED: Sorry, I'm going to correct myself, but here's what this site says, it's not exactly deadly, but here's what it says –
"Garlic – fed in small amounts is very beneficial for your dog. It is considered natures antibiotic. However, to much can cause anemia and upset stomach. So when making your veggie mix, use 1-3 cloves but no more."

A little bit of garlic is perfectly fine…Garlic actually has some great antioxident properties, and some people believe it even repels fleas

From most of the things I've read, it seems that garlic (and onion) can be very bad for dogs and cause digestive problems.
I strongly suggest you keep your dog on a strict 'dog-food only' diet. People foods just aren't good for dogs and can cause their digestive systems distress.
