Does anyone know where I can get a Yorkshire Terrier for really cheap?

I REALLY want a Yorkshire Terrier. But we can't afford it. Does anyone know where we can get one for REALLY cheap, but is a good yorkie?

You may want to check the internet for rescue groups. Most require references, home check and vet checks. They will also charge an adoption fee to help cover the dogs cost.

Also check your local animal shelters. Some pure breeds do end up there and there are a lot of small mixed breeds that need great homes.

How are you supposed to take care of the vets visits , food, toys and ect if you can't afford it? There are no cheap or free animals. I spents $2,000 in medical alone in 3 yrs! That's a lot of money. Yorkies are very expensive, I'm talking like $1,000 - 1,500. They are also a long time commintment.

An adoption center or breed specific rescue for 100-250$s.

A well bred, good quality, registered and health tested Yorkie puppy will cost from 800-2500s.

check with your local dog rescue shelters. They get a lot of purebreds and usually only charge an adoption fee which includes shots and spaying/neutering for around a hundred dollars.

I havn't seen one for under $300. What state do you live in? Try petfinder or craigs list. And of course your local shelters.

Cheap dogs are from poor breeding's. They carry many faults because the breeder didn't check the standards of the dogs they are breeding. Their ignorances in breeding shows in the pups.

Usually a cheap dog means there is something wrong with it.

EDIT: Don't forget the cost of grooming every month. That will be about $30 a month & maybe more.

Who will foot the bill for all the Vet visits? You? All the toys, dog bed, food, it all adds up & cost you several hundred a year.

Yorkies are priced accordingly depending on the costs the breeder has invested in their program. It is not cheap to raise a litter of puppies. Naturally, when it has been done in an ethical manner–proper health screening, vet visits, supplies, investment in stock, pups kept until around 12 wks–the costs can be considerable.

I would question what corners were cut in order or a breeder to be selling one "cheap."

I would suggest saving up to buy one.

(I personally would like a Mercedes Benz cheap…if anyone knows where I can get one, please let me know.)
