How to Potty Train My Yorkshire Terrier?

My Yorkshire is average 11 months and I just got it today. But it seems to have a mind of its own, seeing as how it pooped and peed all over my kitchen floors. How do I potty train it?

1. put it's food on a schedule, you'll never know when it's bladder is full unless you know exactly when the food went in.
2. after each meal remove food and give the dog 20 minutes, then it's time to go outside. If the dog doesn't potty outside, then it goes inside to it's crate. Wait 5 minutes then back outside to try again. The dog does not get to resume playing until the bladder is empty.
3. Enlist the help of a trainer to teach your dog to ring a bell to go outside.

Please don't punish your dog for going in the house. As a dog psychology major and dog trainer, dogs do not know the difference between right vs. wrong…they only know safe vs. dangerous.

Make pottying inside dangerous by catching them in the act and banging pots and pans, while outside is safe and feels good.

I know a lot of people dont like it, and prior to me buying a puppy myself I hated the method myself, but the truth is that crate training is a fast way to potty train a dog. Also there are these products that come in a spray can that leaves the scent that dogs like to pee on. I didnt have much luck with it, however I only used it on one of my dogs so I cant say that it doesnt work. However I will say that crate training is by far the fastest and most effective solution to making sure your dog doesnt make any accidents.
