My 10 weeks old Yorkshire terrier has constipation. She is dragging her bottom along the floor and she is not eating very much. She is going to the vets on Monday but i would like to sort it before then.
I have two yorkies pups and have had this problem before too, have you checked her bottom isn't bunged up with poo that has got stuck around her bottom hole, this is sometimes why they drag their bottoms around the floor. Its really common in yorkies for their bottoms to get stuck up with poo, they don't seem to clean themselves properly like bigger dogs do.
It might be an idea to gently wash her bottom down as this sometimes encourages them to poo with the warm water relaxing the bottom. Also when you get her clipped get the groomer to shave her bottom hair and give her what we call a "chicken bum" cut it saves loads of stress and cleaning later on.
It is possible that your little one has worms although at 10 weeks I would have thought she would have been wormed regularly since birth so it wouldn't be my first thought.
Hope this helps, yorkies are great fun.

Normally you should take the puppy to the vets, but there are those special "constipation" pills that people can buy from your local supermarket: ASDA, Tesco's etc. The pills that you buy will have information on the back of them telling you what dosage is right for the puppy.
All the best, and I hope you have a great Christmas

If she's dragging her bottom her anal glands need to be expressed. Have the vet do it when you take your dog it.
For constipation you can give a few drops of paraffin oil. Paraffin will soften any hardened stool in the intestine.

Many of the treatments for common constipation are also good ways to prevent its occurrence. Fresh water, exercise, and a bit of fiber in the diet are all important to your dog's digestive health and can help fend off ordinary bouts of constipation.
