If you are thinking about getting a new dog, you should definitely consider choosing the Yorkshire Terrier as your breed of choice. The Yorkshire Terrier is a great breed of dog, and you can choose either the standard or miniature Yorkie. Regardless of which type of Yorkshire Terrier you choose, it is important that you take proper care of them and love them.

Are there different types of Yorkshire Terrier’s?
I want a Yorkie but I’ve seen so many different pics, I’m not I’m “wanting” the correct thing. I Googled ‘Yorkie’ and ‘Yorkshire Terrier’ and it had all kinds of pictures, but I’m looking for one of the ones that you can pull the hair up on top and give it the “Pebbles” look. The Yorkie Poos are cute too; is it all in how you have them groomed, or is there a certain type I need to be looking for? Thanks in advance!
‘YorkiePoo’ is a mutt – they should not be bred, if you must get a mutt then please go to a shelter not a ‘breeder’, the people that breed mixed breeds are irresponsible, in it for the money and should not own animals.
Yorkie and Yorkshire Terrier are the same thing. If left to grow long a Yorkie can have a topknot. There is a breed that is similar looking – the Silky Terrier.

All purebred Yorkies have long hair – so you can make the “Pebble” look on any Yorkie. It’s just a matter of grooming.
Yorkies do come in several colors – their back saddle from black to silver with the brown head, feet. Ours also produce a look called “running gold” where golden hair is also intermixed in the saddle with the black.
They are wonderful dogs and pets, very smart, easily trained, hardy, happy.

No, there are not different kinds. Simply yorkshire terriers.
Yorkie poos are mixed breeds, and generally terribly bred. Teacup and micro mini yorkies are bred too small and more often than not suffer terrible health problems (which means big vet bills). Your best bet is to get a yorkie from a qualified reputable breeder who shows her dogs and performs proper genetic screenings before breeding.

no there are just a lot of ways to cut there coat. You would want to keep it long to put it in the ponytail at the top of the head. There are only two types of yorkies the regular(black and white) and the biewer yorkie(black brown and white). Teacup puppies are not healthy and are just the weaklings of the yorkie breed. btw you will need to brush that long coat a lot to make it pretty and shiny. Good luck=) these dogs are great=D

Yorkiepoos are “designer mutts” and are completely pointless. I don’t know why people keep paying $500 for mutts.
Anyway, Yorkies with longer hair can have the “Pebbles” hairdo. It all depends on grooming, but the longer the hair is the more maintenance it requires to keep it from getting matted.

Some pet owners choose to keep their dogs trimmed in a puppy clip, which is why some adult yorkies have long hair and some have short hair.

Here's a little about grooming requirements (you can have them professionally groomed, you don't have to do it yourself).

All those designer mutts like "yorkie-poos" are just overpriced mixed breed dogs. You can find the same thing at the shelter for a fraction on the price.

Nope, just the one.
Don’t buy into the mutt or “teacup” varieties, they are a scam. If you want a mutt–go to a shelter.
Most Yorkies (Yorkshire Terriers) have kind of a scruffy puppy cut. The show dogs are typically the ones with the long hair that is pulled to the top of the head.

No there is only 1 type of Yorkshire Terrier. The long coat is standard for the breed. Some people choose to keep their dogs in what is commonly know as a puppy cut which keeps the hair shorter for easier maintenance. A “Yorkie Poo” is a mutt
