how many people got caught with puppy/dog sale scams in uk?
After looking through ads for yorkshire terriers, lots of scams where ad said yorkie for sale in the local area only to go on to say they have recently moved and dog would have to be shipped from Aberdean or Dundee incurring costs for shipping etc - big scam, fortunately I did not fall for this but Im sure others got caught. I have since obtained a yorkie puppy with all his injections, worming and health check completed.

my sister in laws friend got caught she was told she had 2 pay half then got a email from the person selling them, he said he was at the airport saying the dog needs to be payed for there n then so she did, any the dog never arrived, she rang the local police station and they said it happens all the time!!

I personally don't think any pegigree dog should be advertised in papers or on the net, think it should be word of mouth through the breed associations, this would help stop this kind of scam.
People still want mixes and i think they should be advertised in pet stores alone..
Thats my though anyway.. I do get annoyed with the Friday-Ad, its not on and i wish they would stop allowing pets to be sold liek this, many of the older pups are stolen and sold on through this means, scary!!

Did you post a question couple of weeks ago asking whether there was a scam about sending money and they would then ship puppy?
Glad you have your baby yorkie now - I'm really jealous. Had one myself for almost 14 years and he was the love of my life too. Have two shih tzu girls now. Enjoy - he'll love you to bits just as you do him. It's the Yorkie trait.

our friends bought a ""cocker spanial "" without seeing the parents,he was KC registered with all the papers and guess what????????he grew into a ""springer spanial"" !!!!!!!!!LOL. anyhow they love him very much and "scooby" is a real trooper….apparently it is hard to tell them apart when they are pups but cockers fetch more money…..rip off!!!!!!!!

i did but then it was my own fault for not checking it out but did get another dog and would not change her for the world

you should always see the puppies with their mother and check out the breeder to know where the puppies have come from unfortunately people are out there farming puppies to make money with no regard for the welfare of the dogs a good breeder will vet you carefully too to ensure you are right for their pup. I am glad you have found a nice Yorkie pup they are lovely dogs you have a loyal friend for life there.
