Do yorkshire terriers have a lot of health problems?
Enough to have occasional surgery???
'cause i looked at honest reviews about Yorkshire Terriers and they dont mention really serious health problems..
I have a yorkie and she's pretty healthy. One of her knees pops easily in and out of the socket. It doesn't bother her now but it might later which would be when we'd have to consider surgery. I don't think it's a very common problem, and it wouldn't stop me from getting another. I think some also have dental problems because their teeth are so small. Mine had to have two of her teeth pulled as a pup because she had 2 sets of the same tooth which she had inherited from her grandfather.
The breed is really great though… Sweet, small, and so cuddly. I don't think I'd ever get another breed.

If you get your puppy from a responsible breeder he should have less health problems. Make sure to do your research.

Most small dogs do come with a lot of health issues. They usually have a problem with low blood sugar which tends to rack up a good medication bill at the vet.
To be sure, look up on the internet what kind of health problems come along with having a yorkie. Finding a good breeder is important too. Breeders are not allowed to breed dogs that have health problems. Find one that will give you a full health guarantee so that you can breath easy and know your pup won't have a genetic disease.
Hope that helps
Good luck
