It seems they do. My Yorkie enjoyed the tug-o-wars as well, and loved to grab small things like a sock and shake them violently back and forth across the ground, all while growling.

Yes, Yorkies love to play tugofwar. Mine often grab socks, leashes, toys and sometimes the collars around one of the other dogs neck and haul them around.

Jack Russels love to play a lot too so it sounds like both of your dogs will be very happy. I raise Yorkies and they can make the most vicious sounds. They sound like Tazmainan Devils trying to tear each other up, but they are only playing. It sounds horrible but is funny to watch.

I don't know much about Jack Russels except that they are very active so if your Yorkie is much smaller than your Jack Russel, I would advise that you always keep a close eye on them when they are playing.

Do you know that Yorkies, and other small breeds, are prone to low blood sugar? If not you might want to read up on it. If your Yorkie gets to acting very tired, not like himself, you need to get some sugar into him. Pronto! If you have honey on hand, that is the preferred sugar. Low blood sugar can cause seizures. It will scare the he** out of you but if treated in time, your pup will be fine.

I suggest you join a Yorkie group. This is a good one cause it has over 30,000 members.

Yes they love playing all kinds of games usually. Sounds like yours has an adorable personality. Sounds like the two are just playing with the play growling.

The reason they love playing it is , although they have been bred to look pretty with their long, silky hairm they are still terriers at heart. A terrier will kill it's prey by gripping it and shaking it, much like what he will do to the rop.

A jack russell is the same, a terrier, but no they are not fighting, they are most likely to be playing, but listen for the growling intensifying, as you may need to stop the play and remove the toy before a fight does occur as terries are feisty and can be temperamental

Vickie & her yorkies @ 12:08 pm

I have 2 yorkies who love to play tug o war but i was told a long time ago that you have to keep it PLAY to remain the pack leader. in other words. They can't win the war against a human. The war with each other is a dominance behavior between themselves.
hope that makes sense.
