how are yorkshire terriers as pets?

i want a yorkshire terrier….how much do they cost? are they easy to potty train? are they overall good dogs? they are so darn cute. if someone has one could you just tell me a jist of how they are as pets. thanks

I have a nine month old girl yorkie, shes the most loving dog you could ever meet. She is great with children and very good company, you can get Yorkie's from about £250 in the UK it really depends on where you look.

I have had German Shepherds and Old English Sheepdogs before but my yorkie is really more loving and fun than both of these breeds.

Its really personal choice but I would recommend a yorkie.

they run anywhere from 450.00 to 3500.00. sometimes. It's more the trainer. they are great dogs and behave well. They're also great if u have other dogs or kids.

Yorkies make great pets but they love sitting with you or on your lap. RULE : Either the dog is allowed on the beds and the furniture that's OK BUT if they are not NEVER allow them up. Do not feed your dog from your plate or feed him scraps or leftovers. Get proper dog food. They love chocolate but it can be poisenouse to them.
To train your dog, take him outside every time he wakes up or has just had a meal.
The bitches learn quickly, but the males will always mark their terrotoy my spraying a few drops on and around the furniture.
Yorkies are the geatest ogs but because they are TERRIERS, the male will often attack othe males, even those larger than him - dogs cannot recognise the diffence in size. They work on their sense of smell. If you already own a large dog, do NOT get a yorky as it will probably get killed by the larger dog. You will love your Yorkie

I have a Yorkshire terrier who is now 4 and we have had him since he was 8 weeks.
I could not ask for a better dog.
He has never snapped at my children or any other children /adults although i would never trust a dog 100%.
He doesn't moult which is a huge bonus.
He is very sociable with other dogs - big or small.
He is small enough for my children to hold the lead when we take him out but big enough to still be fun.
I have introduced him to 3 kittens and he still didn't bat an eye lid.
If you show them who is boss form the start( like any dog) you will have the perfect pet.
If you decide to get one - make sure you go to a breeder that you can trust - some breed them to be so small that they have health problems - i bought ours through a breeder at the kennel club for £300-00.

My family got 2 for £500 which isn't too bad. They are very loving pets and quite easy to potty train. The one flaw they do have is they bark alot if you don't train them properly not to. They do have a very sweet nature with people when they don't bark at them.
